10:49AM - Four More Pictures Of Madonna At The Roseland (4/30/2008)
Rob really got some great shots despite the harsh conditions in the 2nd row. (i.e. me getting pushed into him). These four are from the "rock" version of "Hung Up":
I also like this one (from "Candy Shop") alot, even though her head is cut off:
The best ones are in yesterday's post, if you missed them!

12:04PM
I managed to score a 2nd row spot at Wednesday's Madonna show in NYC. I also managed to get my friend Rob into the show who managed to get a few decent shots from the third row.
All in all, it was an amazing experience, I met fans from all over (Montreal, San Diego, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, and of course New York) and ... well, there are many stories to tell, but since I just landed and I'm exhausted, I'll leave you with these photos:
Madonna and Justin Timberlake singing "4 Minutes"
Madonna singing her new song "Miles Away"
( more behind the cut )
The heavily photographed marquee...
She sang "4 Minutes," "Miles Away," "Candy Shop," and "Give It To Me" from her new album, plus "Music" and a rocked-out version of "Hung Up."
I've seen myself in the video of the concert ( http://music.msn.com ) right after the last song ends. I've also seen on the fan sites that me and my "Front Row Bitch" t-shirt are in a lot of photos of the marquee, because I was standing under it for 5 hours. (God help my back)
I'm exhausted. I landed at 10:15 this morning and will work a half day starting at 2pm. Ugh!
More later...

12:02AM - Colin's Cell Phone Photos...Finally Uploaded!
It's a pity we didn't get better photos, but I'll cherish these crappy cell phone pics forever.
Madonna and me. 5/31/06
( four more pics of varying quality )
The money shot: Madonna bent over, singing "Hung Up" to me.
She pointed the mic at me just after this, but it wasn't close enough to pick-up my voice.
"Time Goes By... So Slowly," indeed.

8:58AM
This is ONE sentence, believe it or not:
I and my guest agree that I/we shall not make any cause of action, demand or other claim of any kind whatsoever against RPI, MTVN, Viacom International Inc., Columbia Broadcasting System, Warner Bros. Records, the tour management company, Madonna (the "Artist"), Artist’s Management company, any other participating sponsors, or any of their respective parents, subsidiaries, or related companies, or the directors, officers, agents, advertising agencies or employees of any of the foregoing (collectively, the "Indemnitees"), for any liability, damages, costs or expenses or other loss of any kind arising out of or relating to my tax liabilities and/or the use of the name, likeness, voice or videotapes of either or both of us in respect of RPI or MTVN, or otherwise in connection with or related to the Promotion referred to herein.
Colin and I signed a document full of sentences like this and when we were done, I asked him, "What did we just sign? Do they own us now?"
And he said, "It basically says that if Madonna falls on us, we can't sue her."
And I replied, "That would be fantastic...Why would we sue her?"

2:16AM - Pictures From Vancouver's Comedy Festival (September 20-25, 2005)
Apparently the CanWest ComedyFest folks finally finished putting up the galleries at www.vancouvercomedyfest.com

I've never felt more like a rock star than on 9/24/05, Vancouver's "Best of the Fest" show.

Huge stage, all to myself, wireless headset, my booming voice over booming music,
singing and dancing in front of 700 people.
It was quite a rush.
( click here for a few more pics of Ratzinger's Pope Audition, Live From Vancouver CANADA September 24, 2005 )

Colin bought this pink jumpsuit and blue scarf in Vancouver's gay neighborhood so he'd look fabulous in our "Siegfried & Roy" skit.
And he really did look fabulous.
The photographer was perhaps a bit obsessed with me, because in the "Best of the Fest" gallery there are SEVEN pictures of me and only FIVE of Scott Thompson of "Kids in the Hall." Seriously. Check it out: http://www.vancouvercomedyfest.com/gall
Then again, I suppose my career needs it more than Scott's does.

This November, Uphill Both Ways 100th Performance will take place at the Lillian Theater in Los Angeles, the 7th major North American city we've performed in in the last 12 months. Date and time are TBA (probably Nov 5th or 12th). Performance is part of LAFS, the Los Angeles Fest of Sketch.
I got a call from them on Friday and the festival organizer was thrilled with our demo DVD. "I watched it late at night when I was so tired, I really shouldn't have been watching demos to be honest - but I loved it and it perked me right up..." she said. "You guys are really creative...I loved your refrigerator skit!" ( http://www.uphillbothways.com/videos/Fr

9:12PM - The Lord Of The Burger Kings: Anna And The King, Or Somesuch.
I saw LOTR: Something About A King today. I figured...what the Hell, it can't possibly be more boring than an afternoon of watching soaps with my mother (on full blast volume) while she snores in her cocktail.
Could it?
Anyway, during one of the (many) boring parts of the movie, the film broke and melted in the projector. so I had a forced 20-25 minute break (a welcome one, believe me) during the 3.5 hour film. Lovely. The Regal Cinemas 12 in Bellevue actually found a way to make the film longer.
Um...I know I blame Nashville for everything, but does the film ever break where YOU live?
Perhaps I should see the film breaking as a final "fuck you" from Music City USA.

You know, my favorite thing about the Lord of the Rings movies are all the die hard fans who burst into tears when anyone gives the movies anything less than an A+. I’ll usually just say my peace, which is typically just a single sentence: "I think they’re boring but I understand why everyone likes them."
Suddenly, I’ve brutally attacked the person somehow and they are feeling threatened and challenged and are visibly distraught... and then typically I’ll be asked, "Well…Did you read the books?"
And the echo on that sentence resonates for like 10 VERY dramatic seconds.
And I say, "No."
And they shake their heads and look at the floor in this condescending way that says, "he just doesn’t get it."
( Well, I guess I don’t! )
